North Korean refugee TV stars speak out
November 30 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
More than 33,000 North Korean refugees have escaped to South Korea in the last 20 years. More than 70% are women.
In recent years, North Korean refugees have become TV personalities, started their own YouTube channels, given speeches and published books.
On November 30, 2019, from 4-6 pm, the Teach North Korean Refugees Global Education Center (TNKR) will be holding a special forum with four North Korean refugee TV personalities. While most North Korean refugees seek to remain anonymous, they have become accomplished public speakers and TV personalities.
After speeches in English from each of them, audience members will be able to ask them questions.
The speakers at the forum, based on when they joined TNKR as students:
- Chanyang, 2013
- Eunhee, 2015
- Minhee, 2017
- Yuna, 2018
